Head Race Freestyle Relays
A head race is a special kind of race where teams start at staggered intervals based on their prelim time. In general, the idea is that if all athletes swim best times within their relay, all of the teams will tie at the end of the race. Because slower swimmers have the capacity to post larger best times, we use a formula to provide a small benefit to teams with faster prelim times to maintain a fair playing field. (Difference in Prelim Time from 1st start in Seconds^0.95=Start Delay).
The top 6 relay teams in the prelims will be selected to swim in the finals. No substitution or alternate swimmers are permitted in the finals. All teams in the finals will receive a prize with 1st place receiving something a little extra.
Fun Free Time
At the end of the mini meet, we are hoping to have some fun free time in the pool where the kids can play with the float toys. Sometimes we are permitted to use the water slide. Our ability to have this fun time and potentially use the water slide will depend on our timeline and is not guaranteed.
Warm up lanes will be assigned to clubs based on the number of swimmers participating and will be emailed to coaches. The schedule listed is an estimate. Breaks may be eliminated if the meet is running behind schedule.
Entry Deadline: Sunday, Jun 16th @ 11:59pm.
Scratch Deadline: Tuesday, Jun 18th @ 11:59pm.
